How many times have you thought about giving it your very all, yet somehow you abandoned that idea and went mediocre instead? Maybe it’s because you don’t feel like it, or it’s just not worth your effort. What happens is that you program your mind to follow the least resistant path which really makes you weaker and weaker, as your tolerance level towards high intensive work starts to lower. It’s a mistake often people make thinking that they won’t do the things they don’t like.

Although it sounds comforting and easy to give up unto now, in the long run, it can cost a lifetime worth of regrets… Is this post ever going to blossom at any point? I wouldn’t really wait for it to do so!

So should you keep on making your own self dive deeper into despair, dissatisfaction, or perhaps misery? No.

Why you do it?
It feels so demanding, you’re being enslaved, so the first logical conclusion you gonna come up with is ‘why would I bother being present in this moment doing work I don’t even like?” Whatever the thing you feel you’re being forced out of your way to do, it is just a small, silly, and trivial misposition. It’s best to keep it 100% till the task or activity at hand is finished and don’t underestimate this small gesture, as will teach you a little something about persistence, also, it can shake you non-gently to grow out of your comfort zone.

Another misconception is the one where you believe you’re going to do better once certain circumstances are met. Despite that idea feeling so right, It’s rarely the case you’ll do better once the right task or the right mindset is present, it’s a delusion to think that way.

Maybe you think it’s going to last forever.
When you’re faced with a tough task -or any form of work that should be done, use some productivity hacks and tools to guide you along the way. You can borrow the deadlines principal for instance where you set a set time for the type of work you’re doing, which is a great motivator for you to keep going without thinking you’re being enslaved for eternity. You can also negotiate yourself through a treat, dessert, or any form of reward that usually brings joy; take it after you’re done with what you’ve set yourself to do because… you deserve it!
